Start your music filled weekend with Napa City Nights!
With Porchfest this Sunday, Napa City Nights is the perfect way to start a music overload weekend.
Friday July 29th stars:
Anthony Presti Music 6:30pm
Anthony Presti grew up in the suburbs of Seattle, inspired by an evolving and engaging grunge scene. In his teenage years, he moved to Northern California and played in a rock band covering Nirvana songs until they started writing their own material. After several tours and albums, the band dismembered and Presti rediscovered his affinity for acoustic guitar.
After a three month backpacking adventure in Europe, he returned with immense inspiration and moved to San Francisco. Presti’s music pays homage to all the different places he’s lived or traveled and all the different musical scenes he’s encountered. Presti teamed up with the talented Leah Van Dyke, lead vocalist of Brothers of Siren, and assembled a full band for his latest record Clarity in Hindsight.
Anthony Presti has played countless shows as a duo, trio and full band including the Fillmore Poster Room, Lagunitas Brewery and the historic Hotel Utah. He takes pride on his unique songwriting, brilliant vocal harmonies and energetic and engaging live performances.
One of the bands I always hit up when I find they are playing, because I’m biased and I enjoy good music played by good people. You may recognize the faces, but for sure you’ll enjoy the tunes.
The band started rocking Northern California in 1997. This group of experienced musicians put together their own sound drawing on influences of Classic Rock, R & B, funk & country. The band writes their own music and covers music that they love to play. They are favorites at local festivals and the SF Bay Area club scene. Venues the band has performed include the Oakland Raiders Fan Appreciation Day at the Napa Memorial Stadium, Infineon Raceway Festival of Fire, Laguna Seca Raceway, Napa City Nights, Far Niente Winery, Napa 4th of July Festival, Silos Napa and the list goes on. The line up includes, Chris Chesbrough Guitar/Vocals, Susan Chesbrough Bass/Vocals, Rick Durocher Drums, and Scott Meloney on keyboards. The band has performed many local benefits to support Music education for young up and coming musicians, Toys for Tots, friends of Jimmy K. and others. Check out the show calendar and come see one of the hottest rock and roll bands in California.
The Bad Jones 8:30pm
The Bad Jones are a rock band from the Bay Area known formerly as Soul Pie. Upon changing their name, the band has reemerged with a new attitude and sound in efforts to focus their strengths as songwriters– and more importantly to shed a fresh and reverent light on what they see as the currently dormant state of Rock and Roll. Lead by singer Jesse Ray (pictured center right) and guitarist Tommy Odetto (pictured center left), this longtime songwriting duo have combined forces with hometown friends John Varn (keys, pictured far right) and Tim Baker (bass, pictured far left). Together they aim to help set the stage for the coming resurgence of Rock.
