I have come to the conclusion that I’m poor. I heard that Madonna was coming to the Bay Area again from a LIVE NATION email and I had been wanting to go. LOL heck I even reasearched to create a hard sell for it for the wife. And I even learned a few things like
in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful female singer of 2000. Madonna has sold over 120 million albums, hit the number one spot a dozen times, and hit the top 10 3 dozen times.
And mind, the wife did the yea yea yea bit. I guess what it is for me, is that I like the new music that she’s been putting out. I mean I sorta liked the old stuff, but it was a bit too bubble gummy for me. And I liked techno a while before she started down that vein (sorta). So we decided that the prices on Live Nation where a bit out of our price range of $60 - $370… and the “cheap” tickets where sold out very fast. So I went searching and found one of those blinking Madonna Tickets that just screamed BUY! LOL well maybe not. In actualality they looked to be selling the can’t get elsewhere tickets. As in, if you found they are sold out and you REALLY want to go. This is at least better then buying from the guy wandering the parking lot (and hoping to of actually bought official tickets).
I’ve seen U2 a few times and Rush a few times… and in those cases I was able to afford the cheapest tiockets and barely was able to get the tickets (sold out minutes or seconds after I bought). And I’ve wondered, do the scalpers and ticket resellers really get the amounts they ask? I have to assume so since, when it comes down to it… If you really, really want to go, and have the money, it’ll get bought. And sell enough and they cover the cost of the bulk amount of tickets bought.
