I got passed the below story by a friend. He knew immediately what my reaction was going to be. If you have a weak stomach, or would rather not be shocked, then please do not read on.
Dog Mutilates 4-Month-Old Boy’s Genitals
WAUKEGAN, Ill. — Police are still looking into what exactly happened in a Waukegan apartment early Sunday morning when a dachshund chewed off the genitals of a 4-month-old boy.Police said the girlfriend’s dachshund may have smelled urine in the child’s diaper and began to chew away at the diaper.
The dog continued to destroy the diaper until he mutilated and ingested the child’s genitals. The girlfriend awoke to the child screaming and immediately called 911. The boy was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he was listed in stable condition.
An effort was made to recover the boy’s genitalia by performing surgery, but police said the dog vomited and a veterinarian determined the tissue was substantially destroyed and reattachment would not be possible.
My exact reaction was damn… wtf. I had so much rage rise in me from reading this story I waited a couple hours before posting this. And at the same time I rewrote what I typed here too many times.
If something like this had happened too me that dog would be dead; No if, ans or buts. I can’t imagine what that family must be going through. To have your little boy mangled. Plus the fact that that boy’s life is over for normalcy. Plastic Surgery has gone pretty far. But what can they do… they’ve said its beyond repair.
I’m hoping a report will pop up down the road (I’ll update the post) that they were able to create or find a donor for the baby. And major hopes that it works. I don’t want to think of the odds that the baby would be able to have kids when it grows up…
