iRobot Alliance? An earlier reported alliance with Taser and iRobot has come up with Number 5… I mean a robot that can be used to deal with even the biggest and meanest of people. A cool little video is available that shows off their little bastard child merging of the two. Its pretty cool, but worries me when it may picked up by police departments thinking its a great way to go. And then you hear about another Taser death, this time associated with iRobot.

Most likely this would be used in hostage situations with people trained in multiple disciplines advising the operator. I don’t think there would be much use in having them used as a beat cop’s partner. Your average Joe cop walking around with “his taser robot pet” isn’t likely.
