The inaugural post to this here blog was not meant to be one so somber. Those of you who are in the Game Industry know that Development Closures and Lay-offs are all part of the everyday life you encompass out on the front lines. Lay-offs are usually do to the company needing to get rid of employees to help offset profits going into the red. Some are just departmental restructures where the new guy wants to bring in some of his buddies and get rid of anyone loyal to the old regime.

An old fiend and one who has worked in the depths of the gaming industry just started up a blog recently*, And sort of his very first post was with a bang. As he announced that the producers of the Spiderman 3 game laid everyone off today. As one who went through a number of these he “amusingly” back pedaled the announcement.
